Mother Nature has an abundance of things to see, if we as humans can only learn to slow down and open our eyes. There are so many unexpected wonders we pass by on a daily basis.
Most places are in some state of "urban renewal." I attempt to capture the beauty of past construction before it is torn down and the more generic buildings take their place.
A great challenge to capture living creatures in their habitat without disturbing them. There's something to be said about the magic you feel when the perfect photo just "jumps into frame."
Sunshine, thunderstorms, rainbows and even cloud formations all can be entrancing. The main issue is that I'm normally driving when I see them!
Astronomy (The Moon)
Who doesn't love the moon and the stars? Trying to capture them in all their glory, however, has been a challenge. A FUN one! I look forward to further celestial journeys through my lenses.
"Feel Good" Shots
These are things that, for no other reason, just make me smile. I hope they do the same for you as well.
Part of what started my photographic journey in the here and now was my love to cook, and to show off what I'd created. Unlike the trickery used in magazine shots, the food you see here is 100% edible (and was quite tasty after I captured the photos!)
Always looking for ideas

Abandoned Newport News Coke Plant
Formerly owned by the Brown family, this plant located near downtown Newport News was shuttered in the early 1980s and remains deserted, awaiting destruction.
The Ultimate Burger
Dinner never looked (or tasted) so good as this bacon cheeseburger created on "Survivor" night back in 2006. It also started my love for photographing food.
Allergies aside, there's few things in life that bring me as much joy as the blooming of the first flowers of the season. The local gardens and neighbourhoods become awash in colour.
Norfolk Botanical Gardens
This wee lion fountain (one of many, in a row) spurred my interest in visiting the gardens for the first time in over 30 years for more than their holiday light show.
On the wing, in the water, or simply "eying me", I've a love for waterfowl that stretches back to when I was a young man. Cameras have come a long way since then.
King Neptune, Virginia Beach
Standing 34 feet high, this bronze statue, at 31st and Atlantic, keeps a gaze toward any and all who approach his beach. Surrounded by various bronze sea creatures.
Clicking on Gallery/Ordering allows you to not only choose photos to purchase, but choosing if you wish them printed on canvas, mounted, or even framed!.
Since the camera is unable to capture the full range of colour and light that our eyes are capable of, I am shooting certain photos and applying an High Dynamic Range effect.
Other photos are having other special effects applied to make them look less like photos and more like works of art. These are listed as such on the website.
